This course presents a practical approach that helps students learn how to research and develop informed opinions about updates and discoveries in the fields of nutrition and diet. This course teaches students how to use current sources such as articles from medical journals, health magazines, newspapers, the national news on television, and the Internet. Assignments include collecting current articles on nutrition and diet, researching them in various sources, and then writing summaries about those topics. Students are also evaluated on their ability to synthesize all of the information obtained into a single coherent presentation that has appropriate references and is correct in its spelling, grammar, punctuation, and format.
